General questions

Uncle Bob’s Butter Country Syrups are rich, creamy buttermilk syrups. Our fresh dairy blend gives our syrups a creamy texture. Our syrups are a break from the all-too-ordinary imitation maple syrup. With our wide array of flavors, you can enjoy our buttermilk syrups on more than just pancakes, waffles, french toast, and crepes. They are deliciously sweet flavorings for fruits, hot cereals, ice cream, and more. If you can’t let go of maple-flavored syrup, then try our Creamy Maple Syrup.

Try to see if you can say this next sentence all in one breath. Try it on pancakes, waffles, french toast, crepes, belgian waffles, oatmeal, bread pudding, cream of wheat, everyday cereal, grits, fruit, hot chocolate, steamers, bacon, sausage, sweet rolls, buttered toast, plain toast, yogurt, ice cream, sodas, and more. We have even heard of a mother putting it on broccoli so her daughter would eat her vegetables.

In the dairy regions of the country, buttermilk was originally the byproduct of making real butter. Today buttermilk is made by taking wholesome milk and adding cultures that contribute to a healthy digestive system. Because Butter Country uses real buttermilk, it gives the syrup a complex flavor and pairs well with plenty of yummy flavors.

Storage & Shelf-Life

Our syrups have a two-year shelf life in the pantry.

Yes. Since our syrups contain dairy, the syrup needs to be refrigerated once opened. They should continue to last two years once opened, but our guess is that you won’t make it past two months before running out and ordering more.

Sometimes our syrups will separate — either at the top or the bottom. This is normal since we use fresh dairy, and dairy can fluctuate with the seasons. If you heat it in the microwave and shake it, it will return to normal.

It really just depends on how you like it. Most people prefer to heat it so they don’t place cold syrup on hot pancakes. Just remove the lid, place it in the microwave and then enjoy it warm.

Yes, you can leave the syrup out during the duration of a meal. Just make sure to refrigerate the syrup shortly after the meal concludes.

Ingredients & Nutrition

Uncle Bob’s Butter Country Syrups basically follow the same recipe that Uncle Bob used for years, and most of the ingredients you can find in your own kitchen. We start with sugar, buttermilk and heavy cream, followed by other natural flavorings. We don’t use any artificial ingredients or colors.

Dairy is the only allergen in the syrup.

No. All of our syrups are gluten free.

No. The facility that handles our syrups does not handle tree nuts.

Absolutely! While we don’t advertise our syrups as a “health” product, we are proud of many healthier aspects of our syrups. For example, they have 25% less sugar than maple syrup; there is over a cup of fresh dairy in every bottle; and it is made without artificial ingredients.

There are 18 grams of sugar in a serving (2 Tbsp) of syrup. This is 25% less sugar per serving than maple syrup.
